Please Welcome New IRB Team Member, Malaury Kuhorn, Ecological Ambassador of Creativity and Imagination
A personal introduction from Malaury Kuhorn as the new Ecological Ambassador of Creativity and Imagination at IRB
Dear friends and fellow relational beings,
It is with immense joy and a heart brimming with excitement that I step into the role of Ecological Ambassador of Creativity and Imagination within the remarkable Institute of Relational Being.
Who am I?
Just a silly little human trying to enjoy the embodied experience of living on this planet. More conventionally my name is Malaury Kuhorn (she/her pronouns, perhaps a sprinkle of they? A journey ever unfolding). I come from France, though ethnically-enigmatic, woven with threads of diverse cultures, but perhaps that is a tale for another time.
🎓 Also a former student of Schumacher College's MA Engaged Ecology program, I have traversed landscapes of knowledge, curiosity, and profound interconnectedness. It is from this mosaic of experiences and encounters—both human and non-human—that I derive my essence.
What do I bring?
My intentions within the Institute are manifold, rooted in a deep reverence for the intricate dance of life and a burning desire to weave threads of connection in the tapestry of existence.
First and foremost, I aim to be a vessel of authenticity and vulnerability, offering my truths as invitations to remember our ancestral bonds with all that inhabits this earthly realm. In embracing my own cracks and beautiful messiness, I hope to foster spaces where others feel empowered to do the same, for it is in our shared imperfections that true growth and transformation take root.
Furthermore, I approach this role with a spirit of humility and openness, eager to learn and grow alongside each member of our vibrant community. Together, we will co-create spaces of radical imagination and collective inquiry, challenging the Western-centric narratives that have long severed us from the web of life 🕸️ 🍄🌿 🪐
Central to my vision is the amplification of diverse voices and narratives, particularly those that have been marginalized or silenced within mainstream discourse. Through workshops, podcasts, art, storytelling, and more, I aim to honor the wisdom of the ages, the resilience of the oppressed, and the interconnectedness of all beings.
Moreover, I am deeply committed to exploring ecological issues through a decolonial, post-anthropocentric lens, recognizing the inherent worth and agency of all life forms. From neurodiverse perspectives to the teachings of mycelium, from land justice movements to LGBTQIA+ studies, I see each topic as a thread in the rich tapestry of ecological understanding, each offering unique insights into our shared journey on this planet.
As we embark on this journey together, let us embrace the messy, the unfinished, and the bold.
Let us dare to dream of a world where every voice is heard, every story is honored, and every being is celebrated as an essential thread in the fabric of existence.
Let us be loving Relational Beings!
